While leading a training series in India on mental and behavioral health, I had the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with local providers to better understand how culture shapes care. This experience strengthened my ability to deliver culturally responsive services and deepened my awareness of global approaches to mental health. It reinforced my commitment to ensuring that residents in Washington, especially in immigrant and BIPOC communities, receive care that honors their lived experiences. I will bring this perspective to the Kent City Council to help build a city where all cultures and communities are seen, heard, and supported.
