I’m running for Kent City Council because our city deserves leadership that listens, leads with facts, and puts people before politics. As a college professor, small business owner, mental health professional, and current Kent School Board Director, I’ve built a career around problem-solving, accountability, and common sense solutions.

I grew up in a working-class, military family, raised by a single mom. I worked multiple jobs to put myself through college and now run a company that employs local residents and serves vulnerable populations. I’ve seen how government can either lift people up or get in the way, and I believe in doing what works, not just what’s popular.

Public safety, fiscal responsibility, and making Kent a place where families can thrive are my top priorities. I will work across political lines to making the city of Kent safe, our tax dollars are spent wisely, and every resident feels heard.

The future of Kent should not be defined by extremes. It should be shaped by leaders who are reasonable, experienced, and ready to work. I would be honored to earn your vote.

Goal 1: Supporting local and small businesses

I started, operated, and expanded a local small business. I strongly believe we need industry experienced people to prioritize the talents of our community because small businesses sustain and improve our local economies.
Small businesses are the backbone of Kent’s economy and the heart of our neighborhoods.

I will support them by working to reduce unnecessary red tape, improving access to city grants and resources, limiting and reducing tax burdens, and creating partnerships that connect local entrepreneurs with training and networking opportunities. By making it easier to start and grow a business, we keep jobs and investment right here in Kent.

Goal 2: Homelessness and substance use

As a mental health therapist and former crisis responder, I understand the link between safety and mental health. On City Council, I’ll work to strengthen partnerships between first responders and mental health providers and support community-based solutions that prevent crises before they start.
Everyone deserves to feel safe in our city.

I will push for a clear policy that bans unsafe public encampments while expanding the number of shelter beds, treatment programs, and outreach workers so that people in crisis have safe alternatives. I will also work with law enforcement, social service providers, and community groups to make sure safety and compassion go hand in hand.

Goal 3: Making kent Fun

Kent should be a place where people want to live, work, and spend their free time.

I will promote local festivals, concerts, and cultural events by partnering with community organizations and local businesses, while also supporting improvements to parks, trails, and public spaces. Investing in these activities not only builds community pride but also brings new visitors and revenue to our city.
