I’m running for Kent City Council because our city deserves leadership that listens, leads with facts, and puts people before politics. As a college professor, small business owner, mental health professional, and current Kent School Board Director, I’ve built a career around problem-solving, accountability, and common sense solutions.
I grew up in a working-class, military family, raised by a single mom who never relied on government assistance. I worked multiple jobs to put myself through college and now run a company that employs local residents and serves vulnerable populations. I’ve seen how government can either lift people up or get in the way, and I believe in doing what works, not just what’s popular.
Public safety, fiscal responsibility, and making Kent a place where families can thrive are my top priorities. I will work across political lines to making the city of Kent safe, our tax dollars are spent wisely, and every resident feels heard. I’m not here to play politics. I’m here to serve with integrity and results.
The future of Kent should not be defined by extremes. It should be shaped by leaders who are reasonable, experienced, and ready to work. I would be honored to earn your vote.
Goal 1: Improve local and Small Business Policies
I started, operated, and expanded a local small business. I strongly believe we need industry experienced people to prioritize the talents of our community because small businesses sustain and improve our local economies. due to my business relying on insurance and medicaid, I cannot personally profit from my position on city council like the other candidate.
Goal 2: health and public safety policies
As a mental health therapist and former crisis responder, I understand the link between safety and mental health. On City Council, I’ll work to strengthen partnerships between first responders and mental health providers and support community-based solutions that prevent crises before they start. Real safety means caring for people, not just reacting to problems.
Goal 3: new ideas to building a better Kent
As a community leader and educator, I believe a strong city culture starts with inclusion, respect, and open dialogue. On City Council, I’ll promote policies that reflect our city’s diversity, invest in programs that bring people together, and create more opportunities for civic engagement. A healthy culture means every voice matters and everyone feels they belong.
